Territory on show at top tourism trade event

With Australia’s premiere annual international tourism trade event, Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) just around the corner, we are extremely pleased with the strong numbers of NT operators attending the event this year. This follows on from our very strong presence at ITB in Berlin earlier this year and reinforces Tourism NT’s focus on getting our product operators to the fore in being the best promoters of our destination. This approach impacts on our own budget management as we support participating operators and one of the outcomes of that is that this year that the usual contingent of international Tourism NT representatives will not attend ATE. This will allow us to divert those considerable savings into marketing activities and future opportunities for our industry to get in front of the market. The reality is that our international based reps maintain regular contact with our trade partners based in their respective markets so for them to travel to Australia to see those people again is probably not a very effective use of their time or our budget. They will of course still come to the Territory to conduct the industry workshops and that is a great opportunity for them to interact with you, our industry. Of course Tourism NT’s team will be at ATE in numbers to support our participating operators with their priority being to make sure operators are able to spend maximum time with buyers. I would like to thank all the NT operators involved with ATE, and wish them all the best in helping to sell the Territory as a travel destination to millions of people around the world.
